We live in a hectic world. Whether you’re trying to keep pace with a busy workload at the office, chauffeuring kids around from one event to the next, keeping up a busy social life, taking care of an aging loved one or any combination of those, your busy life may not always allow you to stop and take a shower to refresh yourself. Some manufacturers realized this way back in the 1970s, when dry shampoos first hit the market. Comprised mostly of powders designed to absorb the oil in hair, dry shampoos were originally marketed for women, many of whom still use these products today.
But dry shampoos aren’t just for women anymore! More and more, men are discovering the wonders of dry shampoo products. You’ll find a variety of products on the market, many of which are aimed specifically for the masculine consumer. And while the specific ingredients may differ slightly, they all function on the same basic premise – applying a light coating of a powder-based product to dirty hair, waiting a few minutes, then brushing or combing the hair to distribute the product evenly.
The results can be surprisingly effective. Dry shampoos will make your hair smell fresher and appear cleaner, although your hair may not actually feel any cleaner to the touch. And while these products can work for any hair type, they work especially well on straight and wavy hair. If you have curly hair, some dry shampoos can make your hair look kinky. Yet even for those with curly hair, there’s an answer. Just look for dry shampoos that are made for curly hair. They should say so on the label.
Men’s lives are just as hectic as women’s, so why not take advantage of this pick-me-up product that women have been using for decades? Try it once, and you may be hooked!
