What I love about California is that you never know what to expect. My State is filled with innovators and creatives; people who want to experience life in a new way. I recently had the pleasure of meeting with luxury automotive brand Lincoln in Downtown LA to find out what they are doing to change the car game.
From an incredible experience center, where your every design dream can come true to their new and pioneering loaner service, I found that Lincoln are setting a high bar of expectation in the automotive realm. I went on an exciting day trip where I had an incredible time talking to their designer, finding out about the latest tech gear, and yes, test driving the new Lincoln MKZ.
You’ll find out about my favorite tech rich features I love, like the Lincoln Drive Control – that actually allows you to relax at stop lights – and the Revel Audio system. It’s these details that will change how you see Lincoln., but seriously, would you expect anything less? Well let me give you just a little taste of what you can expect.
Highlights that I learned include:
- A new suite of services, including valet pickup and delivery, begins this fall with the arrival of the all-new Lincoln Continental
- A multi-use Lincoln Experience Center, allowing guests to learn more about the Lincoln brand at their own pace, opens on Fashion Island in Newport Beach, Calif.
- Future initiatives include a dedicated app to provide even easier access to existing services and a suite of new services like parking solutions and new approaches for leasing
The Lincoln MKZ
Let me tell you, nothing will grab your attention in the same way as the new 2017 Lincoln MKZ. It’s the difference between seeing another beautiful woman, and landing your eyes on the One. From the curves to the Panoramic Glass Sunroof, there is a subtle confidence about the MKZ that makes it stand out for all the right reasons.
What I didn’t expect, however, was to fall for the MKZ’s personality rather than her delicate looks; inside I was pleasantly surprised to find massagers built into the seats, relaxing me on what could have been a stressful Los Angeles commute. The Revel Audio system also blew me away – it’s a sound techs dream come true and balances the audio throughout the cabin for a thrilling experience.
The drive itself was amazing, and despite being in the heart of LA – a city known worldwide for its hustle and bustle – I felt like I was in a world of my own. That, I was told by the Lincoln designer, is thanks to the technology built into the cabin that quiets the noise and creates a luxe ambiance unlike any other car I’ve driven.
I think beyond the countless tech features (there are many, you should definitely check out their spec sheet, it’s scrumptious), it’s that Lincoln are creating a drive experience unlike anything else. Where other cars are trying to outcompete one another, all day, I felt like Lincoln was quietly confident in itself and was only interesting in setting a personal best. It’s admirable stuff.
The Lincoln Way
The Lincoln Way is all about how the customer feels; from the moment you decide to buy to every time you hear the engine, Lincoln want you to feel their passion, knowledge, and incredible craftsmanship in every inch of your being. The valet service picks up a client’s vehicle for any service need, at any location, provides the client with a complimentary loaner vehicle, and return it in the same manner. The client can track the progress of the service online.
The Male Standard Verdict
It’s no surprise that the Lincoln names carries a certain expectation, but it was remarkable to see all the ways that they are crushing it in the car game. From their innovative use of technology, to the incredible attention to detail, it’s clear that Lincoln do more than make cars; they offer the disconcerting gent a real slice of quiet luxury that rolls on the tongue like a fine wine.
Rather than create something that is louder, faster, or more expensive than other cars, Lincoln are stepping up to create an exclusive membership of car owners who subscribe to quality over quantity, and who appreciate the small details in life. From the massager built into the driver’s seat to the noise cancelling technology, this is the ride of your dreams.
